The use of an X-ray tube for radiological calibrations requires absorbers of different materials and thickness to provide for various X-ray beam qualities. The X-ray filter device includes a filter wheel with eight positions for the fixation of metal filters with 92 mm diameter. The filters are interchangeable. There is a range of Al, Cu, Sn and Pb filters with different thickness. The filters are of high 99.9 % purity. The Pb filter even has 99.95 % purity. Filters are not included in the basic set. They are delivered according to user’s specification. Optionally separate filter wheels can be supplied with eight filters each, which makes it possible to interchange complete filter wheels with different filter sets. The filter wheel is mounted to a motor drive to automate the filter positioning to the X-ray beam for calibration. A control console enables the user to position the filters by remote control. The connection cable between control console and motor is 20 m long. The filter device can be combined with the Calibration Bench and the X-ray Tube Support.
